As it happens, I found my magical journal from 2010 that starts with that Morningstar retreat where we first met Lux, which I’d completely forgotten about until Ealasaid said it happened.

• I have a note that starts “LVX Ritual” without much context, but now I can recall us all sitting together and opening up to connection with Lux and then speaking out any messages that came through us.
  • My personal notes were about my crown chakra opening wider than I would have believed possible.
  • Messages I remembered to write down that were channeled:
    • “You are greater than you ever imagined.”
    • “Be wise as snakes in this time of change.”
    • “I do not speak the message, I am the message.” 
• Later in the weekend I wrote the following, which must have been documenting Thorn’s words:  

“LVX does not feel like a god but a current threaded through history. But linked to God – Ray of Prometheus, Lucifer, Melek T’aus. In Theosophy, he is one of the Lords of Flame. With contact we can now ask for LVX’s help. We are not asked to believe anything. We always have choice.” 

Thorn was really into talking about “rays” at the time and I understood it as their way of reconciling polytheism and monism. Like similar gods and beings are expressions of a particular “ray” of God Hirself. So those three beings are of the same ray as evolutionary catalysts. 

I forgot entirely all about the Lords of the Flame thing. A quick Google search turned up this definition:

Adepts, or manasaputras (sons of mind), sent from the planet Venus to aid terrestrial evolution. According to Theosophy, Venus was considered in advance of the Earth in the evolution of the Solar System. The efforts of these adepts directed towards intellectual development enable the inhabitants of the Earth to become further advanced than could be expected in the ordinary course of events. These adepts are not permanent inhabitants of the Earth, and, while a few remain, most of them have already returned to Venus, the time of crisis during which they assisted having now passed.

It feels important to note that Venus often shows up in conjunction with Melek T’aus, Prometheus, and Lucifer in practice and in my research. Venus is the Morningstar, which is also a name for Lucifer. Venus is also associated with Quetzacoatl, the feathered serpent who was really important to indigenous Mexican cultures, and obviously the feathered serpent has a compelling parallel to our Peacock as the union of the bird and snake. 

• Later note from my retreat journal: “LVX is separate from the Divine Twins.”
  • I think this was to disambiguate LVX from the Twin names Lux and Nox which we were using more at the time. That’s also why I used that particular all-caps spelling with the V. Thorn had been using it at the time to differentiate LVX from Lux, though clearly now we just talk about “Lux” and refer to the contact.

I know very little about Theosophy and Madame Blavatsky but it’s becoming clear that her thought has a significant influence on Thorn and their peers in the Alliance and it’s probably worth looking at more closely.
