The New Moon in Virgo occurs on September 10, at 8:27 p.m. PDT/11:27 p.m. EDT. We are out of eclipse season, so Virgo can help us sort through whatever came up during the eclipses last month. Virgo is detail-oriented, organized, and discerning. This is the time of the year (in the Northern hemisphere) when the harvest comes in. Your harvest may be a project or working that you’ve been contemplating. Virgo can help you sort through what you can accomplish now, what can be set aside for later in the year, as well as what needs to be composted. This is the time to plan.
Before the New Moon, things are quite active, so it may take a few days to settle in before getting to work. On the same day as the New Moon, Uranus turns retrograde. Retrograde periods are times when we review, revise, revision. Uranus is in Gemini, so information that you’ve gathered can be examined during this phase. Also, while the planet is retrograde, the energy tends to go inward. Uranus is about liberation, and it’s a good time to reflect on your own path to self-possession and liberation.
Not only that, but in the early hours of September 10, Venus enters Scorpio, and Mercury enters Libra. Whew! Scorpio can be a difficult placement for Venus. She becomes quite intense and passionate about her values, who she loves, and where the money is going. She can be very direct in making her desires known. She also loves mystery and magic. As we approach Samhain, Venus will be retrograde (turns retrograde on October 3). More about this next month.
Mercury enters Libra where the abilities to negotiate and communicate will come forward. Libra seeks balance, so Mercury can help us sort through issues of fairness and justice. Additionally, Mercury in Libra will be in a Grand Trine with Pluto and Uranus. Grand Trines in Air signs can bring stimulating ideas and collaborative potential, as well as good timing. Trines are aspects of free flowing energy, but how we direct the energy is important. Remember, the energy can go either way.
September is a fabulous month to work on whatever gets your juices flowing. May your harvest be bountiful.
