This month’s New Moon occurs on May 16th at 1:01 p.m. (PDT)/4:01 p.m. (EDT). It’s in Taurus, a sign known for embodiment, grounded energy, pleasure, appreciation of nature. Taurus energy is expressed everywhere right now (in the Northern Hemisphere, that is), with flowers blooming all over. Take this time to rest, spend time outdoors if you can, and stop to smell the roses!
The rest of the chart is active, with Mercury, Venus and Mars ready to change signs. Mercury is conjunct the New Moon, and will enter Gemini on May 17th, when it will meet up with Uranus, newly in Gemini. Uranus rules the unexpected; hence, it’s effects are difficult to predict. Mars in Aries is conjunct Chiron, which is an emotionally sensitive and volatile combination.
With all the action going on around us, we may feel it’s all overwhelming and out of our control. Where we do have control is within ourselves. Start there. Reflect on how you would like to see the world, then live and make choices from that perspective, joining in community with those who share your values. Be sure to take the time for self-care, getting adequate rest, and eating good foods–including the foods you love. Taurus never says no to chocolate!
