The Full Moon in Aries (September 26 at 9:49 a.m. PDT/12:49 p.m. EDT) is a fiery moon! It’s also the Harvest Moon. It opposes Sun in Libra, highlighting the polarity of self and other. The Sun makes a grand trine to Uranus and Pluto, while the Moon is sextile those planets. The Moon is conjunct Neptune, and Sun opposes that placement. The outer planets aspecting the luminaries are still close to where they were in this summer’s Barbault Basket configuration. It’s a good time to evaluate the progress of any intentions you may have made since that configuration. The fiery energy of this Full Moon is a good time to take action with, of course, some caveats.
The sign of Aries is ruled by Mars, who is at the anaretic (29th) degree of Cancer. Planets at the 29th degree can be more impulsive as they feel it’s the “last chance” to act before moving to the next sign. Mars in Cancer is sensitive and defensive, and is in a square aspect to Chiron (at 29 degrees Aries!), so any wounding that has been hidden could surface to be addressed during this Full Moon. Emotions could rise to the surface quickly and combust, so take a deep breath before saying or doing something that you may regret later.
Neptune conjunct the Aries Moon emphasizes passion and acting on your dreams. Again, please take a breath and step back to look at actions objectively before taking them. A shadow side of Neptune is seeing things as you would like to see them, not necessarily how they really are. Overall, it’s an excellent time for creativity and dreams.
On Sunday, September 27, Mars enters Leo, where it will be off and on until May 2027 (due to its retrograde phase, which begins in January). Put Mars in the fire sign of Leo amidst a fiery full moon, and Jupiter being there as well, and lots could happen. Leo rules the heart, so if your actions are motivated by compassion, you can shine your light into the world in a beneficial way. If you feel you need to step up as a warrior, just make sure you are doing so for the right reasons, and act honorably.
Speaking of planets going retrograde, here is a heads-up for planets changing direction. Venus in Scorpio turns retrograde on October 3rd, and Mercury in Scorpio turns retrograde on October 24th. Retrograde periods represent times when the planetary energies move inward. The sign Scorpio likes to get to the nitty gritty of things, so it’s a good time to investigate matters of importance. In the months of October and November especially, you need to question the accuracy of information you receive. If you’re not sure what to do, listen to what your intuition has to say. It will be strong this fall.
